TechGirlz is a nonprofit dedicated to reducing the gender gap in STEM fields by providing hands-on educational opportunities for middle-school aged girls.

In this workshop, students will learn about how programmers collaborate with others and manage code. They will learn principles of Source Code Management, the basics of Git and get hands on experience with the web-based tool GitHub.

By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
  1. Explain the concepts of Source Control Management (SCM) including Versioning, Repositories, Workflow, Forking, Pull Request and much more
  2. Collaborate with others on a common project
  3. Create your own project in GitHub
